The FMA Nurses of the Shillong Province gathered for their annual meet at FMA Outreach, Lumshyiap – Shillong on 24 November 2020. The theme that guided the gathering was ““NURSES: A VOICE TO LEAD, A VISION FOR THE FUTURE HEALTH CARE” taken from the theme of International Council of Nurses (ICN) 2021.

Speaking on the occasion the Coordinator for Health Ministry Sr. Elizabeth Thannimoottil invited the nurses to make a difference everyday in their service carrying with them a smile on their face and performing their duty with tender loving care. The gathering was also fortunate to have the presence of the Provincial Sr. Elizabeth George FMA who thanked the Nurse Sisters for their dedicated services and encouraged them to forge ahead in their ministry. She added, “Nurses are women who say yes to a special vocation and who live moral aspects and generate it to others too”. She reminded the Sisters that their life should be characterized by their humanizing relationship with the patients as well as with others taking upon themselves the identity of the Good Samaritan.

During the business session, Sr. Dorathy Kharduit from the coordinating team presented the minutes of the AGBM 2019 and report of the annual plan 2019-2020. This was followed by sharing of the activity report of their respective centres and formulation of the annual plan for the New Year 2021committing upon themselves to be in solidarity with the poor in need of their help particularly in this trying times in history.
