Garobadha is situated in the West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya State. It is about 35 kms away from Tura, the Headquarter of Garo Hills. St. Mary Mazzarello Convent is in Guramara village adjacent to Garo town. It radiates the light of Christ and the charism of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello from this beautiful hilltop. Our presence began here on 21st March 1982, a year after the Centenary of the death Anniversary of our Co- Foundress, St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello. This is the first presence in Garo Hills.

Village touring for the then 115 villages of the Parish, Parish animation and care of the Parish School both in Garo and English medium cum boarding for girls were the main form of apostolate.
