The Shillong Province rejoiced at the precious gift of vocation to the 15 young girls who on the 7 October 2015 received the Postulants' Medal at Auxilium Training Centre Saiden - Nongpoh. The short and meaningful ceremony began with the words of welcome from Sr. Phyllis Bamon, Animator of Saiden community. The fifteen young girls approached the altar with a symbolic gesture of offering an empty vessel, which symbolizes their readiness to be guided and accompanied in their vocational journey.
A two day workshop was conducted for the Animators, School Sisters and members of the Provincial Team on FMA India Child Protection Policy. It was held from 5-6 October 2015 at Auxilium Provincial House. The resource persons were Fr. The 37th Annual Provincial Congress cum Bicentenary Celebration of the Association of Salesian Cooperators Shillong Province commenced today the 5th September 2015 at Divine Saviour Parish Hall, Nongthymmai. At the early hours of 5 August 2015 the province witnessed the self-giving of six young women through their First Religious Profession at Mary Our Help Training Centre, Bellefonte – Shillong. 3 August 2015 was a remarkable day in the annals of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Novitiate, Bellefonte – Shillong wherein we saw the highest number of novices with the entry of the 18 new novices. In a simple yet meaningful ceremony the eighteen young girls were received into the novitiate by Sr. Isabella Suja, Provincial and entrusted them to the care of the Novice Mistress, Sr. Rosa Pyngrope. The Salesian Sisters of Shillong Province headed by the Provincial Economer, Sr. Marcellina Sangma were the privileged ones to pay their last respect to the mortal remains of Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at the Shillong Helipad, Upper Shillong in the early hours of 28 July 2015. A beautiful wreathe was prepared for the occasion with the inscription “India has lost a great person in YOU, We will miss you, Adieu Dr. Kalam”. A Spiritual Retreat was organized for the Catholic students of Auxilium Girls’ Higher Secondary School Nongthymmai Shillong from 10 – 12 July 2015 in the school campus. The girls who took part in the retreat are of the age group of 14 to 18.
