After a long Winter respite, on the 7th February, 2014, the premises of Auxilium Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Nongthymmai was replenished with daily school activities as the students were back to School. As they entered the school campus and seeing the coloured flags around, the students could feel the warmth of the sisters and everyone at Auxilium.
The First day was inaugurated with a meaningful prayer service at the Assembly ground. We were blessed with the warm presence Sr. Suja Isabella our Provincial and Sr. Thannimootil Elizabeth the animator. In her message, Sr. Isabella spoke to the students about the importance of a well beginning in every aspect of life. She exhorted everyone to play our roles well diligently with a firm trust in the divine help of God. On this re-opening day, the students were sent home by 10:15am after which a staff meeting was held in order to plan for the year activities.
The Celebration of the Holy Eucharist is the best way to start off this new scholastic year 2014. Hence, on the 10th February, 2014, the staff and students gathered at Divine Saviour Parish Church, Nongthymmai for the solemn Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Gomes Edmund SDB, the parish priest. In his sermon, he shared a beautiful reflection on the chosen readings for the occasion. He strongly recommended that it is very important to seek for God’s wisdom if we want to live better lives and reap sweeter fruits of our work. ‘Wisdom of mind and heart is a share in God’s own wisdom’, he said. Thus, we were helped to strike the fitting note of prayer as we commenced the new academic year.
