Parents – Teachers convention is an opportunity for the parents & teachers to know each other. It is an eye – opener. These meetings are not just about how the children are performing in academics or how they can improve on the subjects they are weak in. PTM is rather, a kind of friendly talk, which helps both the teachers and parents to share the problems areas of the child, seek to resolve the quandary together and to help the child better. This also ensures healthy and perfect comprehensive evaluation where the teachers and parents come to know every facet of the child’s personality like behavior, awareness, skills, talents, weaknesses, eating habits & many such things apart from academics.

Keeping all these in perspectives, Auxilium Girls’ School, Agartala, accomplished Parents- Teachers Meeting from Nursery to Class XII in the academic year (2014-15) on 28^th June 2014. The meetings were all well planned and successfully done with the group effort of the school management, staff members, students and the parents. The meetings started with a meaningful prayer moment prepared by the honorable Principal Sr. Celine D’ Cunha.

In her inaugural address, she heartily welcomed the parents with her most beautiful and poignant words. She briefed the addresses with a presentation on the general information about the institute, activities carried out in Auxilium and some achievements of students and staffs.

Being International year of the “Family”, Sr. Celine made a brilliantly thought provoking Power Point Presentations (PPT) on “Family” related to the welfare of the family members in today’s fast growing world, mainly keeping in focus our children, their parents, teachers and other members of the society. She brought out many burning issues before the parents and spoke about how to tackle these problems in a more effective way from parents’ standpoint.

Parents and guardians were made to pause and think on these realistic issues and also be friendly enough with their wards to help them to cope up with the difficulties, if they have any and do better. Following the PPT, many parents raised some useful questions also felt free to discuss their problems with the principal, sisters and teachers.

In addition to these, they also could identify the areas, where if they are more co-operative and understanding, their children would really excel and build a better relationship on both sides. The sessions were interactive and participatory in nature. The parents came up with the positive comments like the school is progressing satisfactorily in both curricular and extracurricular areas, good faculty members, parents- teachers meeting is a good concept.

The parents and guardian met separately with the respective class teachers and subject teachers to discuss their children’s performance. They were supportive and friendly to bring out the points of improvement and suggestions for better and smooth running of the school and to make Auxilium, an exemplary star in the constellation of success.

They well appreciated the Principal, her ways and hard work for the school and the students, the management, teaching and non- teaching staff for the excellent co-ordination with students and their parents. They expressed their happiness with the constant improvement in their children and focused-approach on Education. Finally the sessions concluded everyday with the encouraging response of the parents on the over-all development of the students & the teaching – learning process followed in the school.

The days ended with the happy note-expressing gratitude towards the parents’ for their trust on the school and association. All prayed together for a moment, for the well-being of each other and expressed gratitude to God for making all these vital sessions and dates of the calendar year, a grand success.
