Continuing the missionary mandate of the Institute and in particular the Province of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Shillong,on august 17, 2013 was another sending forth of a missionary in the person of Sr. Rona Kharkongor at Auxilium Convent, Nongthymmai – Shillong.

Provincial Superior Sr. Isabella Suja together with the members of the Province represented by the nearby communities of Shillong gathered for a Holy Eucharistic celebration as a blessing and prayer for Sr. Rona as she embarks on her missionary journey. In the homily Fr. Paul Vadakumpadan SDB, the main celebrant commented, “It is not a farewell but a blesing and assurance of prayer for Sr. Rona”. The family members of Sr. Rona were also present for the occasion.  Some items were staged after supper assuring Sr. Rona of the love and support of the province as she takes this bold step in responding to the to the call within a call.

In her address, Sr. Isabella assured the missionary of the support of the province and requested her too to remember the province in her prayer with all its material and spiritual needs.
Sr. Rona Kharkongor made her first profession on August 5, 1998 and final profession on August 4, 2004. She hails from Nongkhroh village of the Jowai diocese.
