The two day seminar with the theme, “Formation for a mission in the footsteps of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello” for FMA candidates of Shillong province was conducted by the media co-coordinators of our province Sr. Teresa Kamsuan and Sr. Euginia Laloo at Bellefonte, Shillong on June 21-22, 2012 .18 novices, 9 postulants, 14 Aspirants and 26 Pre–aspirants attended the programme.

The encounter began with the inaugural function; during which messages of Sr. Giuseppina Terrugi ,General councilor for social communication was   translated by Sr.  Catherine Susngi and the message of Sr. Maria Americo Rolim, General councilor for Formation was read by Sr. Teresa Kamsuan. The chief guest of the day, Sr. Maristella Ryngkhlem, Animator Bellefonte community gave a powerful message through the parable of the pencil.

The sessions dealt with during the two day seminar were “The spirit of the origin” by Sr. Wismary Kharbihkhiew. She highlighted on the three YESes, of Mother Mazzarello namely yes to life, yes to faith and yes to suffering and trials. Sr. Euginia Laloo helped the candidates on the topic “Writing Techniques”. “Media today and our response” was shared by Sr. Teresa Kamsuan. Sr. Celine D’Cunha dealt with the themes Power to focus and Soft skills for an excellent life. Apart from the input sessions, the participants were also given group work and presentation of the same. Recreation and prayer moments were well animated by the participants which gave a true Salesian nature to the entire atmosphere. At the end of the meeting, the young people in formation came up with certain action plans to be lived by till the next meeting.

Some of the participants commented that the encounter made them realize to live life with a purpose, be committed candidates and to turn their dream into a reality.
