The love that everyone has for Don Bosco was tangibly witnessed through the presence of a large number of people for the evening Mass. 16 Salesian priests concelebrated the Eucharist.
The Community of Bellefonte clearly brought out the sense of the family spirit in the animation of the liturgy. The representatives of the Salesian Family approached the altar with their respective flags. The main celebrant of the Holy Mass, Fr. Edmund Gomes sdb highlighted that the celebration was an occasion to re-commit oneself finding relevance in the present day context. The touching moment of the celebration came when the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the Salesian Co-operators renewed their vows around the casket of Don Bosco. The celebration concluded with colourful items by the Sisters, Salesian Co-operators, Past pupils and the young in formation. The culmination of the day was marked by the rendition of “O Qual Sorte!” the FMA Anthem by all the Sisters present. The later part of the day was spent in intimate conversation with the saint during the night vigil together with the educating community. On the following day an emotional farewell was accorded to the relic as it journeyed towards its next destination, Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya.
