VAIRENGTE

Vairengte is the first presence of the Salesian Sisters in the state of Mizoram. The two pioneers; Sr. Prisca Thangkhiew and Sr. Jubil Mary Dkhar along with Miss Edita Lyngdoh arrived in Vairengte on April 21, 2003. The house was inaugurated on April 26, 2003 and was canonically established as a community in 2005 with Sr. Jubil Mary Dkhar as the first animator. The Sisters work in collaboration with the Diocesan Clergy in St. Henry School, which was then belonged to the Kolasib Parish. In 2005, Vairengte has been instituted as a new Parish in the Diocese of Aizawl with Fr. Balthasar Fernandez as the first Parish Priest.

At the beginning the Sisters were housed by Mr. Henry Sanglura but now the Sisters have got a new building.
