23 June 2012 - What a proper and appropriate way to start the Mother Mazzarello and Don Bosco week with a hearty wish on Mother’s Birthday. The start of the celebration was on 9th May when the Principal, Sr. Lydia Pala inaugurated the event. The students of class XI presented a melodious song, followed by a choreography depicting the life of Don Bosco.  More

Don Bosco among his Daughters (FMA)

09 June 2011 - "40" >Shillong, June 8: The Father and Founder of the Salesian Fathers, Sisters and Co-operators; St. John Bosco reached the Auxilium Convent, Nongthymmai in the early hours of the day. The sacred relic of the saint entered the premises of the convent in a very traditional style, amidst shouts of Khasi slogans, drum beats and songs. The crowd thronged to hail and welcome the highly venerated saint, the ‘father and educator of the young’.  More

Don Bosco in Bellefonte!

06 June 2011 - The atmosphere was that of excitement and great joy as the FMA, novices, aspirants, Salesian Cooperators, young people, members of the educating community, friends and well wishers gathered at the Mary Our Help Training Centre - Bellefonte to welcome Don Bosco. As in his rounds in Piedmont, he was accompanied by a throng of young people and the parishioners of Pynthorumkhrah in procession with lighted candles, songs and prayers from the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul.  More

A Bashing Cultural Show in Honour of Don Bosco

06 June 2011 - Jun. 6. At 1:30 pm, a cultural programme in honour of Don Bosco relic was held at a well decorated `Pandal` at Don Bosco Technical School premises . The members of the Salesian family of Shillong comprising of the SDBs, FMAs, MSMHCs, VSDBs, Cooperators, Past Pupils and students of various Don Bosco`s institutions presented items for the cultural gathering. The Chief Guest Mr. Bindo Lanong, Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya in his keynote address expressed his gratitude on behalf of all the people of Meghalaya for the works of the Salesians in uplifting the poor and the downtrodden.  More

Don Bosco Fever Grips the City of Shillong

06 June 2011 - Jun. 6. Don Bosco fever continues to grip the people of Shillong as thousands of the faithful flocked the Don Bosco Technical School campus on Sunday, the 5th of July to get the glimpse of the saint. The presence of the relic in DBTS offered to the faithful the chance to pray and intercede to God through the saint. The youth mass at 10:00 am was celebrated by Archbishop Dominic Jala sdb, of Shillong in the presence of Fr. Joseph Almeida sdb, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, Fr. Ethelbert Minj sdb, the Vice Provincial, Fr. L. B. Anthony sdb, the Rector of DBTS, Fr. A. L. Jose sdb, the coordinator of the relic committee of Shillong and a number of Salesians concelebrating in the Holy Eucharist.  More

Don Bosco Among Young People

05 June 2011 - “That you are young is enough to make me love you very much...” Lovers of Don Bosco, young and old rallied around his relics at Don Bosco Technical School to have a glimpse of his magnificent presence. The day coincides with the 170th Ordination anniversary of Don Bosco and was aptly commemorated with a Youth Mass. Most Rev. Dominic Jala SDB, D.D, Archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese was the main celebrant, concelebrated by more than 40 other priests.  More

23 December 2010 - December 20,2010 marked a day of communion when the whole province turned its gaze to the Provincial House - Auxilium Nongthymmai, Shillong celebrating the Provincial Community Day. Postulants’ Medal Reception

12 December 2010 - Andre Gide wrote: “One doesn’t discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time”. Yes, in life, we have to journey towards discovery of new ways, new growth and new frontiers to discover the depth of God’s love. We have dreams and visions. To achieve them we must be willing to let go off the old self, and letting go takes terrible courage. Conforming to this, our 11 Aspirants crossed another mile stone of their journey as they entered the Postulancy on 7th October, 2010 at Auxilium Convent, Saiden.  More


01 December 2010 - Auxilium Secondary School – Tura celebrated Parent’s Day on November 4, 2010. The celebration began at 10.30 in the morning with Mr. Sanjay Goyal I.A.S, Deputy Commisioner of West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya, as the Chief Guest, Sr. Rosa Pyngrope, Provincial as the guest of honour. Other dignitaries were the Members of the Catholic Board of Education, Tura Diocese, Sr. Bernadette Sangma FMA, the parents and well wishers of Auxilium Community.  More
